So, contrary to what the weather of the past few days in the UK might have us believe, today is the last day of May, which means it is June tomorrow. June. Which, in turn, means we are halfway through the year, a time when, in general, things should start warming up and looking altogether rosy outside. Do you hear that, English weather?! We WILL have a summer! And to start off proceedings, I thought I'd take a leaf out of Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere's book and her lovely Rules of Summer posts (can't wait for this years!) and run down a quick 'top ten wishlist' of things I'd like to get done this summer. Perhaps best, in this country anyway, to pick some non-weather-sensitive ones, eh?
  1. Read at least three books. With the ultimate goal of getting started on this beast of a list. 5 years to take on 65 books? Easy.
  2. Have a picnic or barbeque down by the River Dee.
  3. Go on weekend walks with the boyf. Weather permitting.
  4. Weather not permitting, start Breaking Bad and see what all the fuss is about.
  5. Make these salted caramel pretzel blondies. Because sometimes just food. You know what I mean?
  6. Finish decorating my office space and pick pieces for the bedroom.
  7. Visit a flea market/vintage sale, possibly to pick aforementioned pieces.
  8. Make homemade lemonade. Right?!
  9. Take and develop more photographs.
  10. Have a completely indulgent girly day with my best friend in Manchester.
  11. Cheeky bonus #11... Have a really childish 25th birthday party - ice cream cake and all!
I know these seem simple and might be things you'd do every day, but after what has been a stressful few months and a really trying start to 2013, I can't wait to relax, enjoy the sunshine (my favourite time of year!) and spend time with the people I love most. It doesn't look like a holiday is going to be on the cards for us this summer (saving money is a MASSIVE priority right now), but exciting things like a new job, a long weekend away in Amsterdam or Barcelona and getting healthy and fit together are definitely maybes on the summer agenda!

What do you have planned for this summer? Tell me in the comments or better yet, make your own summer bucket list and share it with me! I'd love to read yours!
