So next week marks my 6th annual visit to Glorious Goodwood with my family - it's always a highlight of my summer and I've been visiting different racecourses since I was a little girl with my dad. I grew up loving horses so it was always amazing to be able to go and see them up close - standing on the finish line as a bunch of thoroughbred racehorses come storming along towards you is quite the life-asserting moment, let me tell ya!

One thing I look forward to the most at Goodwood in particular is the fashion - I guess it's more famous at the Vintage Stakes later in the year, but all the beautiful ladies and gents do go full out with their ensembles. I love the tradition and elegance of it all - really puts you in the mood! And my mood, generally, is a... spendy one. I've put together a 'dream outfit' for this year, but I've tried to keep it as realistic as poss - not too many high-end shops in this pick, and my love for Zara will not be tamed. Hope you enjoy!
1. Topshop Organza Insert Calf Skirt - £48 - This skirt just screams ladylike, Audrey Hepburn-esque style. With how hot the weather has been lately, I'd much rather opt for a skirt and cami option over a heavier, structured dress like I might usually plump for. I love the beautiful blue shade.
2. Reiss Penny Top - £38 - Another crisp, clean, tailored pick - the gather at the waist will make it beautiful when tucked into the skirt, and also an amazing, functional blouse for other occasions. AND it's in the sale. Winner.
3. Zara Messenger Bag with Metallic Fastener - £29.99 - No one wants to be lugging around a huge purse at the races, and this dainty little number comes in at just the right size, price and hue to be completely perfect!
4. Ted Baker Feeban Shoes - £120 - My most expensive pick by a mile but I couldn't not feature them. A court shoe made of lace - come on! This is the kind of high heel dreams are made of.
5. Zara Crystal Flower Necklace - £22.99 - I've said it before, I'll say it again - Zara don't often get it wrong. I couldn't believe my luck when I saw this pretty statement necklace in just the right colours for this outfit. I think the jewellery here keeps the look from getting too 'stayed'.
6. Essie Nail Polish in Fiji - £7.99 - The perfect pink - a few layers of this, or even just one coat for a transparent finish, will give you elongated, dainty looking nails that say 'What these? They always look this good!'
I really hope you've enjoyed reading this post as much as I have putting it together - let me know what you like and what you don't, and what you'd wear if you were heading to the races!
