I haven't documented it all here but this past year has been a particularly difficult one for my family. I don't want to go into all the ins and outs, suffice it to say that we were all in need of a little good news. Stress and sadness, grief and the emotions associated with it don't always take an immediate effect on you and those closest to you. Sometimes you have to go through it to realize how bad you were doing when it was happening.

I say all this not to bum you out, but to tell you that, thankfully, we are all moving on to the other side of those times. On Friday I got some amazing, life-changing (in many ways!) news that has really spread joy and a sense of relief throughout the family. We're all very close and I know they worry about me, so it was an amazing feeling to tell them each in turn about the incredible opportunity I was gifted. I start a new job on September 9th doing something which truly fulfills almost every aspect of my passions, and I couldn't be more excited! This also means I have 3 weeks to take my entire life down to Oxford but honestly, the whole thing has been so kismet up until now that I'm not even letting myself get worried. Doors will open and where they don't, there will be a window or fire escape or something equally inviting!

I suppose the main point of this post is: If you're going through Hell, keep going. Speaking from the other side of a rough patch, it's such a huge release when you move through rather than try to run from your troubles or hide from them. Life, love, joy and happiness will find a way. Trust.

Mondays aren't always the easiest, but I hope this post has cheered yours up a bit. I'll be keeping you guys up to date with my move, the new house and my new job in later posts. Thanks so much again for all your support, tweets, and comments. I love catching up and talking to you guys and it means so much that you even take the time. Have a wonderful week!

  1. You tweeted me your link and I just got round to looking at your blog. This post was really encouraging for me as a graduate myself (well, graduating in November!) Things haven't been easy this year but I'm determined to keep going because I know something good will come up eventually. Lovely blog. Take care xo

    1. Aw thanks so much for reading and leaving a comment Naomi, I'm so glad this post encouraged you!! It can get really tough sometimes but the only way out is through - just remember to keep your chin up and even when it seems really, really impossible, the light is at the end of the tunnel somewhere!

Thanks so much again. T xx
