Summer might be nearly over, but don't despair as Autumn holds it's own charms and quirks. Soft jumpers, marshmallows around the fire, comfy boots and crisp, golden leaves. Autumn is my favourite time of year and with it comes a shakeup to the glowing, sun kissed makeup routine I've grown accustomed to and in comes a fresh, toned down palette.

I'm all for browns, coppers and golden hues, especially when it comes to this transitional period between Summer and Autumn. Who can talk gorgeous glimmering tones without first mentioning the Urban Decay Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette? A sweep of Tease (a beautiful taupe base colour) followed by Snakebite (a rich brown with warm copper tones) for definition, finished with the light catching tones of Bootycall, makes for a subtle sultry eye. A few coatings of Green People Volumising Mascara brings out all your lashes for a natural lash line with minimum fuss. For length, wait for it to dry and apply a few more coats for the best of both worlds.

To take this look from day to night a good helping of Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl Eyeliner Pencil along the top lash line will define the eyes further. Run the pencil down the bottom waterline and a little around the lash line. Smudge with your ring finger for grunge appeal, or a smudging brush for a more precise look. Lastly, a solid nude lipstick can pull focus where needed and the ultimate shade of choice is Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Notting Hill Nude. A great dupe for Tom Ford Spanish Pink, this slightly more browny nude pulls off effortless chic for a steal.

Thanks so much, Adrienne! This post got me super excited to bust out some of my more autumnal shades and those big wooly jumpers that have been committed to the lower drawers of my cupboards! If you loved this post, you'll love Adrienne's blog, Late Night Nonsense. Check out her links below!

  2. That looks like a lovely shade of lipstick. I have been looking for a nude colour which isn't too pale, and this one looks like it might work quite well for me. xo
