Since I left you, summer has well and truly left our English shores. There's a chill in the air, the days are getting darker, the wind and rain have found us, and Autumn is here. Now, whilst I love to watch the changing of the leaves, and the excuse to bundle up in comfy jumpers as much as the next lady, Autumn does bring with it some very specific complaints for my little ole' body. Specifically? My skin really, really doesn't get on with the cold...

My skin has always leaned towards the drier side, and unfortunately in the colder months this only exacerbates the problem. Throw into the mix a big move and a new job, and you've got a recipe for what my body is doing now - the 'no me gusta' dance. My eczema has flared up in dry, itchy, red patches all over my body (noice), my lips are chapped, and my eyelids have all but flaked off with how dry the skin has gotten. Awesomesauce.

A bigger post is in the works about the specifics of my eczema, but I thought I'd give you a rundown of the combo I've been trying to save these three tough spots with. For general eczema patches (usual culprits are the creases of my arm, backs of my knees and my clavicle), I've been hitting up the La Roche Posay Ciclaplast Baume B5 on the recommendation of this post by the lovely Essiebutton. The jury's out on this one, but so far, no miracles for me. I will soldier on in the name of research, of course.

Following up is a beautiful little sample size of the REN Active 7 Eye Gel and let me just come out and say it: I love this. For tired, dry and irritated eyes, this gel based formula is heaven. It was always so cool and soothing to my skin, even on the itchiest days it would come through for me and calm everything down, leaving my skin cold and taught to the touch instead of inflamed and puffy. A saviour - and free with this month's InStyle! Go get it! I may be making a full size repurchase with my next payslip...

Finally, I've got to hand it to my old faithful, Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 in Mango never lets me down. I have the original and vanilla versions of this lip balm and all three are lovely - I really love the taste of the mango one, and for some reason it feels a little... 'juicier'? Perhaps it's just my imagination. Either way, a staple in my make up bag, handbag, travel bag... You get the jist. Chapped, parched lips will love this bad boy.

All that's left for me to say is... thank you for baring with me! TGG should be back, perhaps not at full-force just yet, but normal service will resume! I'm so excited to get back to talking to and writing for all of you. I hope Autumn is treating you well, and you've found your own cold weather saviours - care to share in the comments?
