Every so often, a product comes along in the beauty world, everyone raves about it, and I'm usually the last to join the party. So it was with Hydraluron. I held off reviewing this bad boy because I wanted to be sure - really sure, about what I was going to say. Now this has been a staple in my skincare routine for no less than three months, I feel like I'm at least somewhat qualified to talk about how it performs. So, let's get to it!

What it claims to do: Hydraluron is a pre-moisturiser serum that claims to be able to hold twice its weight in moisture - in simpler terms, this boosts your skin's hydration by giving any moisture-giving products more bang for their buck.

What it actually does: Here it is. When I first started using this, I didn't get it. But the more I used it (and on the nights I didn't), I've quickly realised that it does exactly what it says on the tin. It resurfaced, softened and deeply hydrated my skin, and just basically made the steps in my skincare routine that followed it a little more effective. Well. A LOT more effective actually.

Application: I tend to put about a 2p sized amount between my index and middle fingers, rub together a little and then pat into my face, smoothing it over as I go. It goes on pretty tacky and feels somewhere between a gel and a serum, leaning towards more of a gel. The more I used this, the more I realised the benefits of giving it a minute or two to just 'sit' on the skin and get a little less 'wet' feeling before I applied my subsequent oil or cream.

Would I repurchase? In a heartbeat. I was pretty on-the-fence about this at first, putting its status all down to blogger hype, but once I learned how to use this to work for me? Oh man. My favourite pairing with Hydraluron is to use the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Oil immediately after - like a lovely, rich drink of goodness for my skin, and by morning the surface of my face is baby smooth!

Hydraluron is available from Boots, £24.99 (but currently on offer for £16.66 - run, don't walk!).

    1. What moisturiser do you use? I'm using it with Origins GinZing right now and I feel like it gets the most out of it that it can, but I can't wait to try it with something a little more creamy in texture! Definitely go and pick it up now - it's on special offer too!! ;) You'll have to let me know what you think! Thanks for reading and commenting :) T xx
