Many many moons ago, the lovely Adrienne from Late Night Nonsense tagged me to do the Skincare Tag, which I was super excited about. Then I started a new job, moved house, and my health decided to crap out on me, so I got a little waylaid. But today, FINALLY, I return back to my former state, itching to talk all things skincare with you lovelies. Thank you Adrienne, I hope it was worth the wait!

Describe your skin care routine in 5 words: Not there yet - but almost!

What's your skin type? All over my body, extremely dry and eczema/irritation prone. On my face, during summer months, it tends to err on the side of normal/combination, as things can get a little oily in the T-zone area. But as soon as the weather turns a little colder, my skin becomes dry as a bone, and a little flaky around my mouth and nose. Lavly. It can also be a little dehydrated when I haven't been as good with water intake as I should. Bad Tami.

What's your favourite skin care product? At the moment, probably my Eve Lom balm cleanser that I use as a morning cleanse - I can't get over the texture and lovely smell. It just feels delicious and blissfully light whilst managing to be completely luxurious and hydrating.

Top blemish zapper. I hate to be that person but I don't really get spots. When I do, the Caudelie Beauty Elixir seemed to sort out the last few little hormonal ones I had. I'm definitely of the school of thought that you should dry the beggars out. Probably not too sharp considering I already have dry skin to start with... Oops.

Face wipes - yay or nay? Eh. I used to religiously use them (Read: late nights out at Uni) when I didn't wear a lot of make up, but I think even for some strong mascaras - they just don't do their job that well? I'd much rather use something gentle that I know will remove every last trace. Double cleanse if needed. Laziness be damned!

High-end skincare or high-end make up? Again, I subscribe to the whole 'spend more on your skin and you'll spend less on your make up' philosophy. I'm comfortable enough with how much I take care of my face that I don't feel the need to wear foundation, and can go make-up free if I don't have time to get to it in the mornings. I think find whatever works for you, but if what does is an investment, wouldn't you rather invest in the health of your body? You only get one!

You're in a French pharmacy and can only pick up one item - what is it? Ooh. La Roche Posay Serozinc - same as Adrienne! La Hirons (LOVE her) mentioned it was a lovely hydrating toner and I'd love to give it a whirl.

Tell us your top skincare tip. In the real world, it is literally water and sleep. But, in the interest of making this more interesting for you lovely ones, I'd say tread lightly. Your skin is an organ, a living breathing thing, and it has adjustors in place that we aren't always attuned to. If you're thinking of trying something new in your routine, go easy, only introduce one thing at a time, and give your skin breathing space to process what you're throwing at it. It'll usually let you know if it's not getting on with something and, as the lovely Ms. Hirons says - don't try and 'use it up' if it's wrong for you.

If you're reading this, I tag YOU to try the skincare tag if you haven't already - I've loved it! I've got a few specific ladies I'd love to see try this below - comment here with your post once you've done it!

  1. Yay! I loved reading your answers to this tag. It's always interesting to see what other people think when it comes to skincare. Wholeheartedly agree with you on not using a product if it's wrong for you, it's just not worth the hassle of getting your skin back to base-level before having to start all over again.

    1. Aww fanks for tagging me mate!! Yeah, I've had my fair share of bad reactions to skincare to know it's NEVER going to get any better, just step away from the product and move on, hahahaha!! The perils of being into your beauty bumf. Thanks for reading and commenting my lovely!! <3 xx
