I thought I'd do something a little different (for me, anyway!) today and post my first Face of the Day post... Be gentle! You might remember a little while back in my Boots haul I scooped up one of the much-talked-about Brixton Brown shadow palettes from Rimmel... Blaming Adrienne entirely for this! We sort of enabled one another into it...

I've been using the shadows on-and-off for a pretty, relaxed every day make up like the one I'm sporting here. I basically used the pretty shimmery cream colour as a base, the olive green type colour in the crease/as a transitional blending shade and focused on that beautiful rich russet colour towards the outer edge of my eyelid. The colours, though not hugely pigmented, are quite beautiful once you get them working for you, although I did have to really pack quite a bit on to get the level of pigmentation I wanted. I find this with a lot of Rimmel shadows, so I was expecting it in some ways - to be honest the palette was worth it just for that centre colour! Heart eyes everywhere....

I kept the rest of the make up pretty fresh, simple and pretty as I wanted the main emphasis to be on the eyes, and going out caked in make-up on a Sunday is not the one!

I've also, over the past few weeks, tried and road-tested out the Revlon PhotoReady Primer which I'm wearing under my base here and I've got to say - it's love! It doesn't feel overly silicone-y (I'm looking at you, Benefit The Porefessional) and doesn't 'sit' on the skin, but it does make my face feel incredibly soft and even, and my pores were non-existent!

I hope you like this look - if you like face of the day type posts, let me know! I'll be sure to post some more (eek!) Have you used the Brixton Brown palette?

  1. ♥ You babe! I haven't even touched my Brixton Brown palette yet, but I will be using it once I can find a spare moment to experiment. So glad you like the primer, I've got about a third left of mine and I'm already planning my re-purchase. xo

    1. You'll love it when you do! That middle coppery shade is so easy and pretty to blend with - sort of like a budget Coppering, even though that's still on my list for when we next go hauling! The primer is heaven and I definitely won't be doing without it anytime soon!! T xx

  2. You look lovely :) Might have to try that primer, one of my biggest makeup peeves is an overly silicone feeling primer, and I've been looking for something affordable like this one! xx

    1. Thank you sweetheart! I'd definitely recommend giving it a go - I wasn't a primer kinda gal at all and I'm in love with this stuff, just feels really lovely on the skin without feeling choking. T xx
