The Lipstick Tag I completed recently on the blog left one thing glaringly obvious: I had a big, MAC-sized hole in my collection. As a somewhat beauty blogger, not having a MAC lipstick is pretty shameful. Something had to be done. Step up Adrienne, the weekend and a comfy payday cushion, and I was on my way - MAC store in sight, bare hand for swatches at the ready.

I toyed with a few colours, and believe me, Patisserie and Shy Girl are well and truly still in my sights (I'm coming for you soon, my pretties), but when I tested out this baby on the back of my hand, it was love.

Morange is a shade I'd only read about before, between the likes of Zoella and Anna, I was intrigued. A true orange in the bullet and on the skin of my hand, I made worried faces at A for a while until one of the lovely MAC artists came along to have a chat with me. "What you have to remember is how your lip colour is going to change the shade..." She said reassuringly as I told her my woes about yellow-teeth syndrome and 80s glare. Once I applied the shade onto my lips, what happened was magic. It was as if I'd created the perfect, custom-tailored orange-red for my skin - it was statement, but natural, and not try-hard at all. In a word - perfection. The perfect start to what I'm sure will be a long romance with MAC lipsticks... Just look how happy it made me.

Can you remember what your first MAC lipstick was? How do you like 'Morange'? What shades are on your wishlist?

    1. What colours do you like! I'd suggest looking at Shy Girl, Creme Cup and Patisserie for a beautiful neutral nude shade that I think is work-appropriate... Have you checked out any of those colours? :) T xx

  4. I definitely envied how gorgeous this was on you when we were out and about! Truly beautiful shade and it's nice to rock a bold lip every now and again. I reckon you'll be adding to your collection very soon: especially over a lot of the limited editions. I just had to have the Viva Glam Nicki and the Wonder Woman lipsticks too, sucker for the packaging! xo

  6. This was my second MAC lipstick and it was love and first sight, I've worn it constantly. On me it's a crazy bright orange but perfect with me skin. I never get enough of it. I'd recommend Plumful, Rebel and if you want another orange shade I'd so So Chaud! Happy shopping

  9. the first i ever saw or heard of a mac lipstick was when my ten year old self went on a rampage through my mums make up drawer and found russian red. a few months later and I had lost it, a heatbreaking time to look back on for my now beauty obsessed self but back then I was hardly phased, although i knew deep down that was the most perfect red lipstick in all the land.

  11. Oh this looks gorgeous on you! I have never tried a MAC lipstick (oh the shame) but I would love to try out a shade like this. It's so vibrant but on your skin tone is so pretty. It's nice to go out of the comfort zone once in a while though!x

  17. It looks like a gorgeous poppy-red on you! I have Morange and it does come out true-to-bullet, but if I blot it down, I'm left with a gorgeous red-orange tint as well (: xx
