Every so often, it's nice to have a little treat yoself time and splurge on a couple of new things. A sort of 'To me, from me' present. I try to keep these exercises seasonal and after an edit of my stash, so that I can see all of the 'gaps' in my collection and decide what I want moving forward.

I mentioned a while back that I needed a new eye cream, and the answer to that problem (hopefully) came in the form of the Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, which I picked up on a little whistle-stop trip to London with my mum at the beginning of the month. Expect a more in depth review to follow, but so far? I'm loving it. Along the same lines, the much-hyped pixi Glow Tonic had always been a little bug bear in the back of my mind, pestering me to pick it up for its bargainous, £16 'p50 dupe' properties. Can anyone ignore the call of la Hirons? Not me. Verdict still to come on this one, and it might surprise...

Following up, a sneaky little pretty pink lip colour in the form of another Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balm in Elusive - oh mama, I cannot profess my love for these enough. I'm already plotting my next purchase from the line. So pigmented, not drying at all, and such a nice matte finish, which I don't find overly clingy. It is the most perfect rose colour and makes me excited for spring blossoms!

Speaking of Spring, I was so very kindly gifted a new seasonal fragrance, the gorgeous L.I.L.Y by Stella McCartney*. Harvey Nichols offered me the chance to try this scent (I'm obsessed with Stella by Stella, in case it bypassed anyone), and with a description of 'the smell of a spring morning'? I was sold. Side note - did you know the full title of the perfume is 'Linda I Love You' for Stella's mum? Apparently Paul McCartney nicknamed Linda 'L.I.L.Y'. Bawling.

This perfume is light with just a hint of masculine sweetness (truffles and a touch of moss, meant to evoke a wander through the forest, doncha know), and is such a beautiful compliment to Stella. This one is just perfect for this time of year, and when my boyfriend caught a whiff the other evening he said (direct quote) 'You smell reallllllyyyy good.' And went in for a second sniff! Second sniff status people. That's how you know it's good. You can browse Stella's beautiful collections on the Harvey Nichols website, or head instore to have a sniff yourself. I promise you'll love it!

Have you picked up anything new for spring? What's on your wishlist right now?

  1. Lovely purchases! LILY sounds like such a lovely fragrance, and the story behind the name is adorable! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the skincare prods. I have and love the Clarins Brightening Exfoliating toner - I wish I could get my hands on the cheaper Pixi version though! Also, the matte balms just landed in Australia and I am ITCHING to get some!

  2. I bum the life out of Elusive! I always need to use a lip scrub on my lips before I apply it, it sticks to clingy patches more than any other colours I own annoyingly.
I've never owned any of the Stella perfumes but might have to go and have a little sniff of this one, if it's been given second sniff status by your boy it must be good!

  3. That perfume looks beautiful! I'm more of a floral/fresh scent person, but that sounds like it would be a nice light scent as well!

  4. Elusive has seriously never left my bag since I got it. Pair it with a peach/pink gloss and it is the perfect summer lip - post upcoming ;)

My eyes are seriously dehydrated, and the avocado eye cream has been on my mind for ages, so I think I will see if I can find a deal on it somewhere! :)

    Lovely post!

  9. Gorgeous photos! Have been intrigued by the Pixi Glow Tonic but it's pretty pricey. As for the Stella bottle, it's beautiful! I've still not got round to smelling it after Gemsmaquillage has raved about it forever.

  10. I want to try Revlon Matte Balms but it's quite expensive here. *sigh* The perfume also sounds great! I use The Body Shop perfume but I'm looking to switch it up.
