I know I wax lyrical about this magazine all the time, and you don't need to hear more reasons why it's awesome. Beauty-obsessed types will already be used to the familiar sinking feeling when you realise that no, your WH Smith/newsagent/corner shop doesn't stock this little gem. Or worse, the hideous 'I'm-parting-with-£5-for-this-but-I-must-have-it' when you find it. Well, don't say I didn't treat you right, UK readers. Let's talk shop.

Newsstand.co.uk offer a subscription to Allure for £36.25 for six issues. Are you doing this math? Because gross. I pay that much for a cleansing balm that lasts me almost a year. I can't afford these luxuries. Your other option, seemingly, is to wait it out and try your chances at the few stockists of this mag, which will put you back around £5.45 an issue if you manage to track it down. I was caught up in this constant cycle of heart-palpitation excitement upon finding the mag, only to battle with my conscience about how much it cost. That was until Christmas, when someone mentioned that you can actually subscribe to Allure through their website. Internationally. For $40. FOR A YEAR.

Let's break this down - $40 works out at around £25 - divided over 12 months is about £2 or so an issue. GUYS. THIS IS HAPPY MATH. THINK HOW MUCH YOU'LL SAVE!

And I'm pleased to say that 5 months into the year, I've received my mags either on or before the 1st of every month. I'm so, so super impressed I even mentioned this in my recent April Favourites. I can't recommend the service highly enough, and I'll be renewing my subscription in December.

So what are you waiting for? Get on it!

  3. I used to love buying magazines but got fed up of reading 'how to please your man' and 'how to get a bikini body by starving yourself' over and over again so I just stopped buying them. Is Allure really that good? I'm intrigued

    1. I stopped buying mags for the same reason! I felt like all I got was adverts (very glossy very nice but, seen one seem 'em all) and I was only ever really interested in the beauty pages and a bit of the fashion. Allure is all. beauty. pages. And the articles are smart, interesting reference points about beauty. I love it, I know exactly what I'm getting, I read every page and never feel short-changed! T xx

  4. AHHH I am so glad you have enlightened my life! I actually found a news agency that stocks it here - for SEVENTEEN DOLLARS AN ISSUE. You read that correctly. I even looked at a mag subscription service online and it was the same. And now you are showing me this and I feel like MY LIFE IS CHANGING. Lord knows how much the shipping is to this old island but worse case scenario, the digital copy would be ace too. THANKYOU!
