I think we can officially say that summer is here (all five minutes of it!) in England now, and I don't know about you girls but when the warmer weather comes around, my slim-to-no enthusiasm for spending time on my face of a morning all but vanishes. I want to be out the door, enjoying the sunshine, with as little fuss as possible - you all know what I mean - SULAs (that's Sweaty Upper Lip Areas to the un-ordained), creasing eyeshadow and primer be damned. I want to look like a beach goddess in as few steps as possible. Cool? Cool. Whilst still waiting for the 'I woke up like dis' day that that happens, here are some products I've been loving to get me started.

Soap and Glory Make Yourself Youthful Sunshield SPF 50 - Another rant about this seems pointless at this stage, so allow me to direct you to the post I dedicated to this product. I strongly feel that the days last week that I skipped the SPF are what has led to the appearance of some super-unsexy cold sores on my lip. Noice. Either way - this stuff is golden and I will never skip this step before leaving home in summer again.

Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey perfume - I'm sad to say my little tester size of this has now run out (*sobs in corner*) but this fragrance is summer to me - juicy, light-wearing, but lingering... It makes me smell of a delicious nectarine pie, and I need it back in my life ASAP.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20 in Nude - Let's ignore the SPF and just talk about the make-up product, because we all know whilst sun protection is great in your base, it is not enough to protect yourself fully. That aside, this is a gorgeous, lightweight, dewy-but-not-oily base option which, once blended in, can be forgotten about while you go frolic. I mean, that's what we all want in summer, isn't it? A fuss-free frolic?

CoverGirl Clump Crusher mascara in Black/Brown - Let me put this into words - I have rubbed the crap out of my eyes with this on, and nothing. I have sweated, trotting around New York City with this mascara on, and nothing. This mascara is natural, fluttery, wide-awake looking lashes with NO. FUSS. WHATSOEVER. I honestly put this on and forget I'm wearing it until I look at my eyes and it's like ba-BOW. It's so good. Holy grail mascara.

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in Poppy Paradise - I haven't really gotten the whole powder blush thing yet (ssh don't tell), but this gelee is like blusher for dummies. It's highly pigmented but blends out beautifully (work quickly though, yeah?) and wherever I place this it looks so natural, girly and pretty that I want to go skip in a meadow. See it in action here

Maybelline Colour Elixirs in Fuschia Flash and Mandarin Rapture - These glosses. Holy pigment. And durability. These guys stick around, look awesome, and when they do wear off the lips (which takes some time), it's totally natural, isn't patchy and leaves around a nice tint of colour. I want these in all the shades. And these are SO juicy looking in summer. Honestly just a wash of these on the lips and a pair of shades and you go get it, girl.

What are your summer essentials? What never leaves your bag in summertime? Have you tried any of these picks?

    1. Ugh, the money for shipping is so crazy - a good idea is to split an order with a friend or three so that you qualify for the £10 flat rate - it's the best way to get around the crazy spends!!! Good luck! T xx
