Week 3 was a trying one, ladies. For anyone outside the UK, this past week has been a swirling vortex of humid, muggy heat, with the threat of thunderstorms around every corner and stifling conditions which have you praying for the sweet release of a rainshower. In Britain. I know.

So when I tell you that the last thing I felt like doing was getting tarted up for work everyday, belee dat. My hair was sported in two styles this week - pineapple or cheerleader-style high pony, and not a fuck was given. With that in mind, sticking to the 'new lipstick eeryday' thing was a bit of a push, to say the least. Enjoy the shiny forehead in most of these bad boys. And anyone against my scraped-back raccoon faces? EXIT STAGE LEFT.

As always, I am running this challenge with the gorgeous Jaye from Bed In The Kitchen - check out her Week 3 post here!

July 15th: Enter pineapple updo #1. Today was brought to you by the Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya, which is a coral/peach colour with quite a sticky formula, and I felt a little 'DNW' about this lip in the heat. My boyfriend's award-winning observation: 'There's something on your lips'. Good then.

July 16th: Aaah, back to the best. This is the Maybelline Colour Whisper in Pin Up Peach, and I've talked before about these being quite pigmented for their name 'whisper', but I think 'whisper' might refer to how smoothly these apply. So much win, so smooth and moisturizing, comfortable to wear, and the right amount of colour. Love these. You can't really see it on my lips but this is a beautiful, flattering peach.

July 17th: Another US-based product today (sorry guys but the US get it so right so often with the drugstore stuff, yanno?), this time in the form of the Maybelline The Elixir in Breathtaking Apricot. My girl Jaye has rocked this out during the challenge already and it reminded me to whip my own out (sorry for the term) and give it a go. You can tell by the big grin I love this stuff. Gorgeous colour, easy to wear, non-sticky gloss. YES.

July 18th: Deep foreboding sounds. I revisited, again, my NYX Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler after an ill-fated test run. And... I really liked it! It was a lot more pigmented than I remembered (how did THAT happen?!) and the formula was actually pleasantly creamy rather than annoyingly thick this time. Note to self: Be more forgiving of your lip products!

July 19th: Maybelline Colour Whisper time again. Sorry not sorry guys. If you felt these on your lips you would understand it too. Today was Coral Ambition although I've NO idea why it's called that when it pulls very, very nude on the lips, but I'm totally fine with that. As you can see it's a nice nude, one that perks up the face, and the formula is amazing as ever. Full marks.

July 20th: Look at that made up poodle face. Someone's been filming! Sunday is YouTube filming day, and that made some va-va-voom, so for that I reached for my Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian, and when this says full-on, it means it. This tingles to hell and takes some time to 'set' and feel comfortable on the lips, but after a little while the texture changes from plastic-y to creamy, and it's a lot easier to get on with. Is it worth the perseverance? Absolutely. Who doesn't want the perfect nude, sexy, pouffey lips?

July 21st: Confession: Today was so busy I totally forgot to take a selfie until I was in my pyjamas, but enjoy this sleepy shot of me wearing Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Punch all the same. My boyfriend went 'Oooh, she's making herself beautiful before bed' when he saw this lip colour, so I guess it gets a vote for him. Surprisingly pigmented, moisturizing (but not the most) on the lips, easy to slick on in a hurry. Good for girls who want a low maintenance wash of su'in su'in.

And that's Week 3! Are you still following the challenge? Will you guys ever take on a lip-a-day challenge? I know I never will again! Who was I kidding?!

  1. Ahhh! i've been seeing this tag all around and I might finally just cave in and do it too! Looks so fun and I'd love to see a compilation of all my lipstick looks :) It may just determine which kinds of colors/shades suit me best. Love day 15 and 18 on you!

    1. Thank you so much Sharina! You should definitely give it a try if you want! It's difficult, but it does make you realise what you have in your stash and what suits you :) Day 18 for example, I thought I really didn't like this gloss but actually looking at the picture, it doesn't look too shabby! ;) Thanks so much for reading and commenting. T xx
