You'd be forgiven for not noticing but, I took a little blog-break this week. I've been away in Sussex with family getting thoroughly sunburnt and having my fill of cuddles and football transfer-window commentary (both of those were my dad). It's been blissful, but did you honestly think I'd leave you guys hanging with one more week of the lipstick challenge left?! WE'VE COME SO FAR!! Let's wrap this baby up. My lips are going to be blissfully bare in most of August I feel...

As always, the babe-in babe that is Jaye is doing this challenge along with me, so go check out her week 4 post here! WE MADE IT JAYE. AREN'T YOU SO GLAD YOU SIGNED UP FOR THIS.

July 22nd: Ooh, wasn't I feeling a bit vampy today! This is the Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet and this is pretty much a decidedly winter-y shade, but I actually really loved getting my dark colour on! There's something quite 90s about it. Especially paired with Birkenstocks. The formula of these is always amazing and I love the deep browny-red of this. I predict another love affair come autumnal weather... So any time now then, for England.
July 23rd: Keeping the 90s vibes going with that hair-do, this is the Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle. I mentioned this colour in my June Faves as being on of those go-to, make-you-feel-awesome every time shades, and it truly is. It's the most perfect pinky-brown neutral colour with just *enough* shimmer to do something interesting on the lips without trying too hard. I love it. If I need something effortless, I look here first.
July 24th: Enter Maybelline ColourSensational Shine Gloss in Cashmere Rose. Oh damn, my feelings about these glosses. I had even forgotten about the formula until I slicked this baby on. So smooth, so creamy, so unsticky and not gloopy. The colour is beautiful - a shimmering barely-there nude which looks like almost nothing on my lips, apart from a perfected glossy shade. Love this alone, or over the top of a nice nude lippie. I bet it would look awesome on top of Notting Hill Nude.
July 25th: Let's be real: I wasn't bowled over by NYX Butter Glosses at first. The NYX Megashine Lip Glosses are a different story. This little number is Nude Peach and forgive the crappy night lighting for not showing off how pretty this is on the lips. It's so pretty. This is one of those brightening, almost coral-pinks that brightens up your face and makes you look like you've made an effort when really you have your hair up in a pineapple and your forehead is luminous with sweat. So. Yep. The smell of these is a little bit bubblegum and the formula is a bit thick upon first application, but I'm willing to deal because so much pretty.
July 26th: Here it is: this was a hen-do day. A hen do, after a three hour forty minute coach journey. I needed something that was sticking around. So I opted for the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Unapologetic. In the words of a male friend: 'It's not pink, not orange, not red, but so bright'. Articulate win, yes, but this is one of the most neon matte colours I've ever seen. And it's a joy to apply, a joy to wear, and also a bit of a smug-joy to be the owner of when you get as many compliments as I did when I wore it. The bride-to-be even asked what it was because she had to have it. Job done.
July 27th: Another Maybelline The Elixir this time in Rose Redefined. I know my girl Jaye loves this shade, but for me it was a bit neither here nor there. It wasn't really pigmented enough for me to notice it on, or perhaps it was just too close to my lip shade. Either way, I'm going to have to think of another way to make this work for me. Maybe one to avoid if you have olive undertones in your skin?
July 28th: The NYX Megashine in Tea Rose was a total on-a-whim pick up because of the cute name. Stick 'tea' on anything and I'm there. But I'm so glad I picked it up, because how flattering is this shade! It's a lovely muted pink, perfect for everyday wear and really flattering for work.
July 29th: For my first day at the races I went with an old favourite pairing - the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Complex paired with Maybelline ColourSensational Shine Gloss in Glorious Grapefruit. What a babe-in combo for a nude lip. This is the perfect pairing if you want to go quite heavy/smoky/smudgey on the eyes, and want that polished finish. I love it, and love the matte formula paired with the creamy gloss. Only reapplied once throughout the day as well!
July 30th: I followed the nude lip with a bold, and MAC Morange came to play of course. I love this shade, and I wasn't necessarily expecting to, but as my first MAC lippie it's always going to have a special place in my heart. The formula is creamy and moisturising, easy to wear, and it doesn't make your teeth look yellow! So flattering.
July 31st: THE FINAL DAY! EVERYBODY DANCE! Today I kept things simple as it was a traveling day (sobs), so I went with the NYX Megashine in Beige. What a beaut this is. Most confusingly named product ever because it's actually a very pinky brown shade, but there's a reason why big hitters like Tanya Burr love this stuff. Even if it really smells too strongly of bubblegum. This is such a gorgeous shade and the formula is lush. I wish I'd stocked up!

And with that everyone, it is DONE! We have reached the end of the 31 days, and I am vowing a mini-ban on lip products... We'll see how long that lasts! I look forward to heading back into the world of lip balm and mascara as of tomorrow. Have you guys enjoyed this challenge? It's been a tough one, but I did have fun!

What's your favourite lipstick? Are you guys going to attempt this challenge? Link up if you do!
