If there was one word to describe the effect this lipstick had on me, it would be this: FEELS. Since NARS first released images for its limited edition Audacious range of lipsticks and the swatches first started surfacing on Temptalia, one shade sang to me. When I saw it was a limited availability shade, the need became a little frantic. How was I supposed to get my paws on it if Barneys New York was the only stockist?!

Enter Selfridges. Selfridges is acting as the gateway-drug/UK answer-to-prayers when it comes to this line. They're stocking everything - including the deliciously titled 'The Vault' which is almost too beautiful - and eye-wateringly expensive - to even look at. Pipe dreams aside, when I saw Ingrid stocked on the Selfridges website it was an immediate 'add to basket'.

The story doesn't end there, friends. I did the ridiculous thing of letting it sit, sit, sit in my basket until those ominous words appeared - out of stock. I felt sick - I'd been robbed - and it was mid-way through composing a desperate tweet that I realized I really, really wanted this thing. One quick call and a trip to London later - it was mine.

So let's get down to the nitty gritty - what's going down with these lipsticks?! Well, let me start with one word. PIGMENT. These are some of the most pigmented, creamy lipsticks I've ever come across. Every shade is vivid - even the neutrals - don't expect a sheer wash of anything here. For that reason, you're probably better off treading softly and using a light hand when it comes to application with the bold shades.

Ingrid is a deep purple wine-berry shade, it makes me think of a dark rich wine when applied straight out of the bullet, but when patted down with your finger? A crushed grape colour. This is how I love to wear it best - whilst I'm a fan of the creaminess of the formula, I do like a matte bold lip, and this patted down to a stain on the mouth? Hello undone sexiness. It's one of those amazingly versatile shades that lets you decide how you want to wear it - casually as a barely there tint (with a ton of blotting) or vivid, creamy and a little glossy in finish applied from the bullet.

I cannot get enough of this formula and the whole branding around these lipsticks - if you ever wanted to appeal to a woman, give her lipstick a cute name, why doncha. And that matte black packaging with the elusive magnetic 'click'? Don't even get me started. It's going to take a whole new level of restraint not to pick up all 36 shades. Oh, Santa...

Whilst Ingrid is now out of stock on the Selfridges website, there is still limited stock in store, so if you live near to one - RUN, DON'T WALK.
