Has anyone noticed that Boots are killing it lately with the Christmas shopping offers? I've seen whisperings of a Bourjois gift-with-purchase, then there's THAT Soap and Glory deal that everyone is talking about, and now this - a free trio of minis from Essie's Winter 2014 Collection with any purchase of two Essie products.

My drugs of choice? Sole Mate and Wicked, two classic Essie shades that I was dying to get my mitts on, if you'll pardon the pun. Both are deep, dark, wintery hues - Sole Mate is a darkened plum, which looks perfect on the toes - once again, their naming system is bang-on. However the shade that really stole my heart? Wicked. What a colour - in some lights red, in others brown, this is an inky shade that swanned right out of the 90s and right into my winter fail-safe line-up. I was kinda expecting to either a) hate it or b) not be cool enough to pull it off, but I'm happy to report that it's love.

Whilst I haven't tried any of the three minis, Tuck It In My Tux is a beautiful snowy white, which I think will look beautiful layered under a glitter, or maybe paired with Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low which is the token opaque silver glitter shade of the pack. If you can't do it at Christmas, when can you, eh? Jump in My Jumpsuit is a little more of a raspberry shade than a classic orange-red, which I like. You know me and those juicy shades!

I think the trio itself is worth £12.95, so if you were planning on picking up a few shades and like the look of the winter collection, this is definitely worthwhile looking into. I, on the other hand, will be staying as far away from Boots as possible until way way after Christmas. Like maybe June.

  1. What a great GWP! I've heard amazing things about both of the shades you purchased. They are perfect for the Winter season!

  2. I really love the red colour! I've been meaning to try more Essie shades.
