I'm sure I'm not the only one with an office party to head to this week, so I thought I'd hit you up with some failsafe, do-it-all products that I turn to when I'm feeling a little... eh. Sometimes, you just want to look like you woke up like dis without placing every item of make up in your arsenal on your face, and that's okay. I've got you. And just a disclaimer - I'm not really a *glitter* type so. These are all more on the shimmer side of festive. Cool? Cool.

For 'that somethin-somethin' skin: In case I haven't waxed lyrical enough already, let's revisit the Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powder in Candlelight, shall we? I think this is the make up item that inspired the term 'lit from within'. This is so subtle, I can't ever imagine anyone using 'too much' of it - it's this that might make you think 'where is this stuff?!' when you apply it. But, take a photograph girl. Trust me. Your skin will look glowing, healthy and illuminated. Heaven.

The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal wasn't exactly new to me, I'd heard about it here and there, and I received it as a GWP, it sat in my drawer for a while, and that was that. But this winter I've started cracking it out and, let me tell you, this stuff is dewy glow in a bottle. This stuff is made for office party 'look at her skin! Where has she been hiding?!' moments.

For your seasonal smokey-eye:  Nobody wants to go Kung Fu Panda with their eyeshadow at the Christmas party - we've all been there - your usual skillz with a MAC 217 go out the window and you're left with two blotchy messes around those peepers. There's no shame in keeping it simple, especially when you look at the amazeballs range of shimmers and multi-dimensional colours there are in the eyeshadow game at the moment. Take MAC Eclair Paintpot - a bronzey-browny-goldy shimmer that sort of takes all of the work out of a smokey eye - it's just stunning, and my personal pick for the party this year.

The L'Oreal Infallible pressed pigments in Amber Rush and Bronzed Taupe never leave my radar for very long, and for good reason - layered over eyeshadow, they add a little extra dimension to any eye look, and are about as close to glitter on the eyelid as I go. These don't give me any sort of crazy reaction, they look crazy good, and the shade range is brilliant.

Naked One is a holy grail product for a reason - this palette is choc-full of hero shades - not least Half Baked, Smog and Sidecar, all of which look fantastic on their own, or paired with partner shades in the palette. There is something for almost every look in this palette and I defy you to not find a wearable combo from these picks.

For that red lip: I'm gonna hold my hands up - I didn't exactly have a signature red... Before this lip pencil. NARS Cruella is it. My perfect red - vampy, deep, matte but not drying in the slightest and totally comfortable to wear all night long. This doesn't move all over your face, but it does wear, so pop this one in your clutch ladies. Luckily, the pencil format and the sneaky handbag size means it's a no-brainer! Total saviour product.

I hope whether you're kicking up your heels or kicking off your boots this festive season, that you have an awesome time. Pray that I don't have one too many tomorrow night. It could be srs.
