The more appropriate title for this post would have been: 'My first MAC Quad *angel song*', but hey, we all have to be grown ups for the sake of Google Analytics sometimes, right?

Let's get into it: I took the plunge and committed to four shadows from MAC to build my first quad and I can hand-on-heart say - this is my idea of heaven. I'll chat you through.

Top left is the beautiful and versatile Soba - which in person is a pretty 'nothing' shade to look at. Is it gold? Is it olive? Is it brown? Ladies - it's all three. This makes green eyes work like no other. It's almost metallic-y duochrome-y in how versatile it is, and how different it can look when paired with different eyeshadows. This one was love at first application. I like it best paired with...

Top right, Satin Taupe. You guys already know about this shade and it's cult for a reason. It is SUCH a beautiful purple-y taupe-y goes-with-anything, one-shade wonder, pretty much indispensable from my life now eyeshadow. I both fear and long for the day I hit pan on this, just so I can go get another. Isn't that disgusting?

Bottom left we have Mulch. Never underestimate the power of a matte brown. This is crease colour heaven and works beautifully with a neutral eye, for smoking out a darker eye look - it's basically the flat brown of my dreams that doesn't pull too grey or too red. Love your work.

Bottom right is that cheeky little beauty All That Glitters. This one is another oft-raved about MAC shadow that deserves every word of praise it gets. This is stunning on its own for giving your eyes a more-awake, dewy, shimmery look. I'm always up for looking like angels have kissed my eyelids, and that was why this made the cut. I haven't found anything that comes close to this shadow, if I'm honest.

And that's your lot! I'm totally in love with the colours and so happy to finally have a palette that's totally my own and bespoke. Living the dream. So now it's over to you to enable me - what are your can't-live-without MAC shadow shades?

  1. Great picks Tami! All That Glitters is absolutely gorgeous for everyday wear and Soba is great on its own or in the crease with a pale shade like Rice Paper all over the lid. Patina is definitely my all time favourite MAC eyeshadow though. It's great for everyday wear. xx

    1. PATINA - yes, that was high on the list! Defo for my next quad :) I've heard so many good things about Rice Paper as well - will have to have a swatch soon! Thanks so much for reading and commenting Celina :) T xx

  2. You know that you should've got the 15 pan palette, right? MAC eyeshadows are just so beautiful, you'll want more! The 4 pan palette is great for travelling though as the 15 is a bit cumbersome!

Excellent choices, girly. I've never actually never swatched Soba and seen it in real life, so I must rectify this! Satin Taupe and All That Glitters are two of my favourites as well and it's not hard to understand why they're so popular amongst everyone! As a neutral lover, some of my other favourites include Naked Lunch, Bronze, Brun, Smut and Club - definitely check those ones out!

I've actually got two 15 palettes (yikes!), but I'm yet to fill my second one up! I've got Sumptuous Olive, Green Smoke, Mystery and Twinks on the wishlist! You really can't go wrong with MAC eyeshadows. :)

  3. I love Quarry and Malt. They are pretty similar to shades in the Naked 3 palette but more subtle when applied :)
