New job, new make-up shake-up... Or more accurately, any excuse to rotate in some new products, amIright? I've been trialling out a work-safe face that I can put on in - get ready for it - under five minutes in the car on my way to work, and it goes a little something like this....

0 - 30 secs: Apply Laura Mercier Hydrating Foundation Primer all over parched, sensitive, winter-hating face. Be grateful that your skin now looks somewhere near dewy. Sigh of relief.

30 secs - 1:10: Dot on and blend in Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20 in Nude, because Caroline Hirons tells me I need SPF even in winter and I'm too lazy/thoughtless to apply it separately.

1:10 - 1:40: Pat on NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla, use dark circles duo to do their thang. Wish I was still in bed.

1:40 - 2:20: Use Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Soft Brunette to make my eyebrows look somewhat related and organised about their life. Spend a while debating the age old 'too much, not enough' eyebrow conundrum. Get frustrated.

2:20 - 2:30: Examine eyebrows carefully, spot strays, immediately feel furious.

2:30 - 3:00: Breathe. Apply Naked 2 from the Naked Basics palette all over the lid. Blend Faint lightly through the crease (time permitting).

3:00 - 4:00: Apply Eyeko Black Magic mascara (review forthcoming) CAREFULLY. Anyone who has ever tried to apply eyeliner/mascara in a moving car will understand why this takes a full minute. No one wants to mascara themselves right in the eyeball.

4:00 - 4:30: Apply MAC Spirit for that whole 90s nude, Kylie Jenner I-am-working-you-out kinda deal. Examine face and feel grateful make up exists.

That's my work face guys! What products go into yours? How do you get your 'game face' on?

  1. This sounds like me in the morning! I've got my 20 minute get ready routine down pat. You kinda have to when you're up at 6am!

  3. This is almost exactly like my everyday routine, I'm also up around 6AM everyday. I've got my whole routine from rolling out of bed to jumping in the car to 20 minutes! I must go swatch MAC Spirit - I just got Twig and it's right up the Kylie/90's alley.
