This Bank Holiday Monday was blissfully sunny (well, for the most part), so I started the day early and picked up breakfast for myself and J. We filled our tummies with croissants, berries and OJ and headed out to adventure! My favourite kind of day... We umm-ed and aaah-ed over our day-trip location and finally settled on Bourton-on-the-Water - a friend at work had recommended it as the 'Venice of the Cotswolds' and I see what she was talking about - Bourton has a really beautiful shallow river that literally runs through the village, which makes for lots of these cute, low bridges.

The village was busy, but not crazy, and picturesque as you'd imagine for the Cotswolds, filled with tea rooms and dog-friendly pubs. We saw SO many beautiful dogs this day - I've reached the point where, when I see a cute dog, I literally just squeal and nudge my boyfriend. I've become THAT kind of desperate dog-wanter.

We whiled away our time with a slow stroll around, running into some cows in the open fields, and a little duck race happening on the river. Duck #16 won by a landslide. It was a massacre.

I hope you all had an amazing bank holiday weekend if you had one - maybe, if you're nearby, you'd like to explore Bourton-on-the-Water on your late long May weekend?
