Many moons ago on this blog, I took you guys through my fragrance wardrobe (wanky), but seeing as this was over two years ago and people change, I thought it might be fun to revisit it today. Unsurprisingly, almost everything has changed, and whilst I still hold a special place in my heart for Stella and Tobacco Flower, things have gotten a touch more refined and diverse 'round these parts. Ladies, meet my failsafes.

Elizabeth and James, Nirvana White, $80 for 1.7 oz full size
WHEN I WEAR IT: Pretty exclusively during summer, this is a light, fresh and feminine fragrance with a flirty but not sexy vibe. Summer tea-length dresses, flowers in your hair, wandering the city - this is the kind of imagery I associate with this scent - could be because I first smelled this in NYC!
NOTES: Peony, Muguet, Tender Musk.

Jo Malone, Wood Sage and Sea Salt, £85 for 100ml full size
WHEN I WEAR IT: Summer and autumn are when this feels the nicest, but it's a really versatile scent. This is a heady but fresh scent which brings the smell of the sea with a fresh, crisp edge and a nice earthiness underneath which keeps it from being too cologne-y.
NOTES: Ambrette seeds, Sea Salt, Sage.

Fresh, Brown Sugar, $48 for 1.0 oz full size
WHEN I WEAR IT: When I want to smell delicious, year round. This smells of baking - there's a citrus, lemon note which keeps this fresh and light enough for summer, but the warm, bakery sweetness of brown sugar which makes it a really lovely choice for wintertime too. I honestly smell so delicious when I wear this I have to remind myself that I'm not hungry, it's just the perfume.
NOTES: Sicilian Lemon, Tangerine, Açaí Berries, Sugared Magnolia, Honeysuckle, Peach Nectar Caramel, Warm Amber, Cypress.

Jo Malone, Pomegranate Noir, £85 for 100ml full size
WHEN I WEAR IT: From autumn until it starts getting too warm to bear the richness of this - this is a rich, sexy, heady perfume. Probably as heady as I'll go, as growing up around oud means if I smell anything to deep in terms of perfume it gives me a real headache. However this perfume is juicy, it's thick and sexy and warming in a sultry way - a great choice for date night. It reminds me of Christmas markets, crisp autumn leaves and chilly evenings curled up with the one I love - a delicious scent for cooler temperatures.
NOTES: Pomegranate, Casablanca Lily, Guaiacwood.

I hope you've enjoyed this rundown and if you've got any questions about any of the perfumes, just leave them in the comments! I'd be happy to answer. Until then, I'm hunting for a way to get Elizabeth and James Nirvana White in the UK...

  1. Ooh, I like the sound of Pomegranate Noir! I've not smelled it before and I'm hoping it's not too fruity as that's not really my thing these days but the way you've described it sounds great! And I definitely want to get my hands on Wood Sage & Sea Salt - it's such a unique fragrance and I really love ones that tend to lean more unisex like that.
