A couple of weeks back I took a little trip down to the big smoke to go and see Jaye (bliss), attending a blogging event (fun, but short!) and inevitably do just a little bit of the shopping stuff. High on the list was the fresh store, a place I had only heard of in myths and dreams, but that lived nestled in Marylebone High Street, which is actually the most perfect place in the universe. As luck would have it, like a week after this trip fresh opened a store in Covent Garden but hey, I always prefer the OG experience anyways.

Whilst there, I was pretty set on coming away with my first Sugar tinted lip balm and believe me, these are a lot harder to resist in person once you're up close. They're beautifully rich, pigmented, buttery soft and smell like citrus-y baking goodness. And it's not just the visually appealing element that wins me over - the brand is dedicated to using only natural ingredients. I like the ethos and practice behind their skincare, although I am disappointed to find that they aren't confirmed cruelty-free, as they still trade in China. I'll be putting together a post about this in the near future.

That being said, I couldn't resist this amazing gift set for Christmas - called the 'Nude Lip Trio', it comprises three travel-sized tinted lip balms in Rose, Honey and Nude - great shades for those wanting to try out the balms but not risk anything too 'out there'. For the record, all of these shades are a sheer wash so I don't think any of them, even the berry shades, would be that overwhelming. The balms are rich, creamy, nourishing, and give a flattering hue to the lip. My favourite so far is Rose, which has a plumping effect on my pout that I really enjoy! The balms come in a sturdy tin which houses a great, large sized mirror, so makes a really nice travel set for on-the-go touch ups.

This set would make such a fab gift, or could even be split out into three stocking fillers if you were feeling super generous! It's £23 so not the cheapest of deals, but when you consider each one of these is around £8, it does work out about right. If that's a little rich for your blood, they also do the cutest little skincare baubles as part of their Christmas collection too!

Have you guys started Christmas shopping yet? What's on your wishlist this year?

  1. I love that Fresh do mini Christmas sets - I managed to pick one up when I was at Sephora in Hawaii at the end of October. I saw this trio of 3 but I went for one that had 4 shades plus the lip scrub and they're all so nice! It's hard to believe a tinted balm can be as nice as they are, but there's something about them that makes them irresistible. They really are worth the hype.
