April is the first month we really start to feel the sunny days - as I type this at quarter past seven, it's still light outside. Our days are longer, the clocks have gone forward, Easter is done and the time to 'nest' and 'stay indoors' feels like it's drawing to a close. Bring on the long walks, the warmer air, the lazy afternoons after work in beer gardens - these next six months are the time of year I love the most. I couldn't be happier to get into spring and start making plans for summer. That being said, here's what I'm looking forward to in the coming month.

SEE: I DESPERATELY want to watch 'The People vs. O.J. Simpson' and the boyf and I are almost done watching 'Making A Murderer' (my second time, his first), so I'm gonna put in a strongly-worded vote that this is the series we binge-watch next. DAVID SCHWIMMER AS ROBERT KARDASHIAN?! Come on.

LISTEN: April looks to be a BIG month for music, with new releases from two faves of mine, Drake and Beyonce. But I've actually got a gig in early April that I'm really excited about - I'm headed to see Jack Garratt at the Academy and I cannot wait! One of my favourites of his is Chemical, another is Breathe Life. Enjoy!

GO: I'll be heading on holiday to Dubai at the end of the month which I'm SO ready for, but if planning a big trip isn't quite within your budget right now, go for a 'holiday from adult life' and play laser tag. We went over Easter weekend and I don't remember the last time I'd been so giddy and giggly.

EAT: I picked up Hemsley and Hemsley's new book, Good + Simple, last month and I can't wait to get stuck in to their recipes and make some deliciousness. First on the list? A lazy weekend brunch of Huevos Rancheros with Guac.

DRINK: Your own cocktails! My friends and I whipped up some homemade mojitos last month and they were so delicious, and seeing as one of my best friends at work happens to be dating a former barman, what better opportunity to make use of some skillz and get some free lessons in cocktail-making?

WEAR: Holiday shopping has me lusting after all the bright colours - it's really far out of my usual comfort zone but this shirt dress has me making heart eyes.

Lately I've been wanting to pick up a couple of new books, especially now that I'm heading to a beach with nothing on the agenda but to relax - any recommendations for seaside reads? Fiction preferred, but I'm open to suggestions!

THINK: Focus. With more sunlight hours keeping me upbeat and giving me more energy, I'm really sensing a shift in my mindset as I start to knuckle down and really work towards my goals. I always like to use the spring and summer months to really 'charge up' on good vibes and high energy to hopefully carry some of it through towards the end of the year. I'm enjoying this productive season!
